BATTERY ROUNDUP EVENT TO BE HELD AT COSTCO IN TALLAHASSEE ON MAY 17th
TALLAHASSEE, FL — On Saturday, May 17th (from 10 am to 2 pm) a collection event (The Great Battery Roundup) will be held at Costco in Tallahassee for old, dead, lithium-ion, nickel metal hydride or regular alkaline batteries, plus any rechargeable devices with batteries in them.
This collection event will provide City of Tallahassee and Leon County residents the opportunity to properly dispose of their household batteries, protecting the environment and lessening the chances for environmental contamination.

The event is being organized by the Southern Waste Information eXchange, Inc. (SWIX), in partnership with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Leon County Government, Costco, Florida State University’s Institute of Science and Public Affairs (ISPA), and iHeartMedia (WTNT 94.9, WFLA 100.7).
